Hennessey’s wild 6-wheel EV makes a Cybertruck look normal
3 min readSix wheels, six electric motors, and a cabin inspired by a private jet when you do 200 mph or more: no one can accuse the Hennessey car maker not imaginative when it comes to their project in Hypercar. The company may be best known to make a truck version of a stronger performance, not to mention the F5 poison, promising even wild things with the All-Electric All-Seater Rockets.
The space in the Hennessey project will look more like something coming out of lightning than a traditional luxury sedan. The company only has several sketches of design, but enough to make it completely clear that it can be more surprising than Tesla Cybertruck.
“If four electric motors are good, then maybe six electric motors are better,” said the founder of John Hennessey’s company. Each wheel will have its own, help with the dynamics of driving for a sedan that is 20 feet long. More rubber contact with the road, meanwhile, means more grip.
As a result, carmakers promise, will be potential for “the fastest four-seat seats from zero to 200 mph.” The right performance numbers, details about power and torque, and the battery size has not been disclosed.
What we know is that the chassis and body panel will use carbon fiber, because it is light and structural weight. It will also allow for a large gullwing door – billed as the widest appetizer car door in the world by Hennessey – giving access to the cabin unlike others on the market.
Inside, seating is placed in a diamond pattern. There are four seats, yes, but not in configuration 2 + 2 that you might expect. The driver’s seat was positioned centrally – Hennessey said he was thinking about the classic McLaren F1 there – while behind and to both sides was two more seats. However, the most luxurious place even further back.
There, a full lazy chair took advantage of deep project space, giving anyone who was lucky enough to reach the room more than enough space to lie down. Described as a “zero gravity” seat for extra comfort, it will be able to fully flat configuration.
The result is a car that promises space for not only four adults but four golf bags, and luggage. The aim, said Hennessey, not to compete with direct sports performance from F5 poisons with 1,817 horsepower. Instead, it is to help enlarge the car maker range with something that focuses on the Grand Touring.
Only 105 of the cars that are expected to be built, a Hennessey process – a bit ambitious – said it must begin in 2026. Each will cost from $ 3 million, making it the most expensive electric car so far.
Luxury electricity is directly not a completely new category, although making math balance can be complicated. Aston Martin originally aims to reboot the Lagonda name for all-electric luxury series, running as far as expressing a number of SUV sedans and cars. But the project was stored as an English car maker struggling to continue to survive.
At the same time, Bentley and Rolls-Royce – brand with a much more established inheritance in luxury driving – also signifies their intention to navigate all-electric motoring. Rolls-Royce will start the process within a few years, with the All-Electric Spectre Coupe. Bentley, meanwhile, aimed to have the first pure EV arrived in 2025. The two companies looked fully-electricity became the only choice around the end of the decade.
With a very short amount of space that is deeply wanted to be built by Hennessey, it will make Rolls-Royce and Bentley’s EV look quite common. That is, with a striking six-wheel assumption actually managed to get to public roads.
