Chrome OS 96 brings more camera features and Android Nearby Share

Even though Google might be famous for Android as far as the operating system, it has a number of platforms with its name. Chrome OS may be one of the most sophisticated because of the number of other operating systems that can be supported, including Linux and Android. But in some aspects, Chrome OS feels like still pursuing what some of his colleagues have had. With the latest version 96, Google Chrome OS get some of them, including almost unique capabilities to control external cameras.

Chromebook is not famous for their cameras, and most of them only have enough muscles to make a proper webcam for video chat. Most don’t even have a “facing the world” camera to take pictures. As Chromebooks begin to diversify, many devices, especially those with convertible designs, do have such cameras, and Chrome OS has begun to use that development.

Announced several past versions, Chrome OS gained the ability to scan documents using the front or rear camera. Like many document scanners, automatically detect edges and make it easier to share documents via Gmail or Android phones using the nearest share.

Chrome OS 96 also adds new features for those who use an external camera. A new Virtual D-Pad is available that can give users control over the PAN function, slope, and zoom from the camera to frame the perfect shot. The preference is stored so you can immediately jump on video calls using the settings.

The 9to5Google also said that the latest Chrome version of OS increases the support platform to share with the nearest Android device. Previously limited to selecting applications, including progressive or PWAS web applications, the closest stock function can now be accessed from the Android application sharing sheet. Considering one company to make Android and Chrome OS, it is a long function.

Google is also tempting that more camera-centric features will be present soon. At the top of the list is the ability to create animated gifs with the Chrome OS camera application, allowing users to record five seconds of videos to turn into fun clips, you can easily share with others. This will come early next year, but advanced Chrome OS users can try their luck by joining Google’s beta program to test features in front of others.
