Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 revealed: The details that matter to your next phone

Today we peek at the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 cellular platform that was disclosed from Qualcomm. The next generation technology will be sent to a smart device in the near future – for now, we explore Qualcomm what is revealed to us about their next cellular platform for the most powerful smartphone (and related smart devices) in the world. Today we have a detailed list that will mean you, end users.

  1. Some basic bits

Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Mobile Platform works with 4nm process technology and support for 4K resolution with 60 Hz (60 frames per second refresh image refresh), or QHD + resolution with 144 Hz support. We are looking at the 3.0 GHz Kryo CPU support with ARM Cortex-X2 (64-bit) technology.

If you see a device with a series of specifications that include the SM8450 section number, you are looking at the device with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 onboard system. You will roll with the 7th Qualcomm AI Gen engine with support for Leica Leitz Lays mode, hugging the face (notification), and sound analysis of Health Sonde.

  1. Audio connectivity

With Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, Qualcomm combines the first Bluetooth LE audio features such as back-back channels to play games, stereo recording, and broadcast audio. Snapdragon Sound Technology is included with a double bluetooth antenna, Bluetooth 5.2, and adaptive APTX support.

Qualcomm Aqstic Audio Codec played, with Qualcomm Aqstic Smart speaker amplifier, audio communication suite and the latest Qualcomm sound, and total harmonic + noise distortion (THD + N) and 88DB screening.

  1. Gaming power.

The audio feature continues with audio technology to play games – with what Qualcomm calls “deep, quality console sound.” This is the first Qualcomm platform released with audio technology in the mixture.

As generally occurs, this latest platform improves on the graphical processing power of its predecessor with significant margins. Qualcomm suggested that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 GPU Adreno itself in this generation is 30% graphics rendering faster than Snapdragon 888. Power efficiency is also better with this generation than Snapdragon 888, with 25%.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 works with Vulkan 1.1, OpenCL 2.0 FP, and OpenGL ES 3.2 API support, HDR game, Adreno motion machine, volumetric rendering and physical-based rendering. Qualcomm goes further by calling support for the Unreal 5 engine from Epic Games – with all the bells and whistles provided by specific support.

  1. Power camera.

Snapdragon Sight Technology Introduced with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. This tech allows your mobile to work with an 18-bit Qualcomm ISP (image signal processor), a significant leap over the most recent solution (14-bit). This sophisticated image processor technology has the power to support 8K HDR video taking and the speed of shooting up to 3.2 Gigapixel per second.

As happened with the previous solution of Qualcomm, the power of your device’s camera settings depends on the combination of elements. Qualcomm itself cannot provide all the power of the camera you need – you need a top-class hardware setting that utilizes complete Qualcomm image processing technology.

The good news there is that the brightest brands generally use fully camera technology entered in the latest Qualcomm chipset. We only need to wait and see which companies combine this technology on their next smartphone to see if Qualcomm claims are fulfilled up to max.

  1. 5g upgrade.

In the next few years, you almost certainly have a smartphone that is capable of 5G and 5G connectivity is basically wherever you might roam. With Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Series you will find support for the modem-RF system Snapdragon X65 5G 4. This system includes three “first world” features.
